Inside Matters: Make a difference and make the call

All Premier League matches over the weekend were dedicated to "Inside Matters", a campaign which is helping to raise awareness of mental health and encouraging fans to check in on the wellbeing of others.

Ahead of UK Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from 12-18 May, players and managers from all Premier League clubs got involved to help promote positive conversations.

As you can see in the video above, when asked to check in on someone he cared about, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes didn't hesitate - he called his former Old Trafford team-mate Juan Mata, who happened to be on a beach in Australia!

"You could see the smile on my face, the smile on his face, just with a small call, a small conversation," said Fernandes, who is encouraging fans to check in on their loved ones.

"With just a short call, two or three minutes, it can make your day get better."

Professional support available

To help fans access professional support, the Premier League is collaborating with Shout, a free, confidential 24/7 text support service for anyone in the UK who is struggling with their mental health, run by the charity Mental Health Innovations.

Fans can text "SHOUT" to 85258 to receive round-the-clock support from trained volunteers, supervised and supported in real time by an expert clinical team.

Through the partnership, the League is providing funding for Shout’s helpline services over the weekend and during Mental Health Awareness Week.

You can also access mental-health advice and resources here through the Premier League's own Stay Well Hub
