Liverpool have completed the signing of left-back Milos Kerkez from fellow Premier League club AFC Bournemouth.
Arne Slot has now strengthened both sides of his defence after Liverpool completed the signing of right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen last month, while Florian Wirtz also joined from the German club on Friday 20 July.
He becomes the second high-profile departure from Bournemouth after Real Madrid activated a release clause to sign Spain centre-back Dean Huijsen for a reported fee of £50million.
"I'm going to give everything – absolutely everything – to win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield. I can't wait to hear the roar. And see you soon," Kerkez said on Liverpool's website.
Kerkez’s career so far
Born in Serbia on 7 November 2003, Kerkez moved to Austria in 2014 to play youth football for Rapid Vienna.
After impressing for his next team, ETO FC Gyor in Hungary, Kerkez joined Italian giants AC Milan in the 2021 winter transfer window before moving to Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar a year later.
It was another one-season stay and he left the Netherlands for England’s south coast, joining Bournemouth in July 2023.
The best was to come in 2024/25, where he made 38 Premier League appearances, contributing two goals and six assists, as Bournemouth went close to qualifying for Europe for the first time in their history.
As an international, Kerkez made his debut for Hungary in 2022 in a 1-0 away win over Germany. He has earned 23 caps to date.
When could Kerkez feature for Liverpool?
Kerkez's first match in Liverpool colours could be their pre-season friendly against Preston North End on 13 July.
Liverpool start their defence of the Premier League title at home to Bournemouth on 15 August.
