Matheus Cunha has spoken for the first time following his move from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Manchester United after the transfer was completed on Thursday.
The Brazilian forward, 26, who has signed a contract until June 2030, with the option of an additional year, says he will fulfil a childhood dream when he wears the famous red shirt.
“It is hard to put into words my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player," Cunha told the official club website.
"Ever since I was a child in Brazil watching Premier League games on TV at my grandmother’s house, United was my favourite English team and I dreamed of wearing the red shirt.
"I want to thank my family and everyone who has helped me make that dream a reality.
“I can’t wait for the start of pre-season to get to know my team-mates and prepare for the season ahead. All my focus is now on working hard to become a valuable part of the team, and helping get this club back to the top.”
Cunha set to feature in Summer Series
With Cunha's move to Man Utd now finalised, fans could see the striker make one of his first appearances in red during the Premier League's Summer Series.
Cunha, who scored 15 goals and provided six assists in a standout 2024/25 campaign, could feature when Man Utd face West Ham United at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 26 July.
Part of the Premier League's pre-season tour, the Summer Series brings top-flight clubs to iconic venues across the United States.
